One Year in the Books

Wow! How has a year already passed? It seems impossible that 365 days have gone by since Miles and I were married. It was an incredible weekend for us. We spent Thursday night apart so we could both spend time with our families. My mom cooked a big Enchilada dinner for us and we chatted on the porch. My grandparents and aunt were able to come in town and I loved spending this night with them before things got crazy busy! Miles was able to eat with his cousins, grandparents, and aunt and uncle who were also visiting from out of town.

On Friday, we woke up and ate breakfast with my dear friend Caitlin and her boyfriend. Then, the girls were able to go to the bridesmaids luncheon while the boys went out to eat at our favorite Hammontrees. The luncheon was beautiful and southern in every way possible. We had a beautiful cake complete with cake pulls! I was able to give my bridesmaids, mama, and mama-in-law their gifts then, too!

After that, we headed to get ready for the rehearsal dinner at Vetro! This had to be one of the top moments of the weekend. We loved having all of our closest friends together and we will never forget the touching speeches and words of advice they gave us. We had a pretty amazing Brady Bunch rendition about our crazy family of dogs, too. It doesn’t get much better than that!

After the dinner it was late and I was ready for my last nights sleep as a Clark! Chelsea and I headed back to the hotel and called it a night. The next morning it was show time! My oldest brother Chris ate breakfast with us and we started to get pampered right away.

After that, it was time to shuttle to the church and get the night started. Our ceremony was just what I had always imagined. We got married at the church I’ve grown up in, St. Paul’s Episcopal, and we even had the children’s choir sing! Here are some more pictures Chris took of us signing the wedding license. I couldn’t leave out Charlie, our sweet nephew who was one of our ring bearers!

After the ceremony Miles drove us to the venue in the cutest white convertible and we had some time to ourselves. We were able to go upstairs to our room and eat a plate of food our wedding planner had set aside for us. After we ate, we walked downstairs to meet our amazing guests! It was time for the first dances, cake cutting, and then we danced the night away. It was the most incredible weekend of our lives. We felt so loved and supported through every event, and couldn’t imagine a better way to begin our lives together. Happy one year anniversary, Miles! Love you more than ever!
